Year A, 1st Sunday After the Epiphany: The Baptism of Our Lord
Show Notes Chapter Markers

In this episode, we discuss the readings for the first Sunday after the Epiphany (Year A in the Lectionary cycle: Matthew 3:13-17; Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 29; Isaiah 42:1-9).

We marvel at the Good News that is revealed to the whole world in Jesus' person and ministry to all people as He kindly offers healing, liberation, and restoration. The themes of Jesus' baptism, Peter's proclamation at Cornelius' baptism, the imagery of the Psalm, and the tender care of the Chosen Servant in Isaiah 42 offer us much to meditate on and receive with joy.
